The prayer of faith will save the sick,
and the Lord will raise them up.
James 5:15

March 17, 2008

Dear Parents of Grade 5 Students,

Your child’s service project this year is to host the Anointing of the Sick Mass for the parish. This Mass is planned by the 5th grade students in St. John’s School and Religious Education with the help of their parents and teachers. We ask that you and your child participate fully in this project by attending the planning meeting and the Mass.

Our planning meeting will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 10:30AM in the Church. Students, parents, and catechists will meet to discuss various aspects of the Mass and the reception to follow. Parents must attend this meeting with their child.

The Anointing of the Sick Mass will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the 1:00PM Mass in the church. A reception will follow in the church hall.

We look forward to seeing you and your child at the planning meeting and the Mass. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to learn first-hand about this great sacrament and to offer a service of love to the sick of our community.

Thank you very much.

Yours in Christ,

Cheryl A. Kitchin
Minister of Religious Education
